The
Ruby Jack Trail - a 16 mile "Rails
to Trails" project that starts at Carthage,
MO and goes through the towns of Oronogo
and Carl Junction, and extends all the way
to the Kansas State Line.
There is a trail head with parking located
in Carthage near the intersection of Oak
Street and Old 66 Highway. It is located
across the street from the city golf course.
The Ruby Jack Trail is now officially open
to the public! All 16 miles of the trail
are currently open for hiking and mountain
biking, but the trail is very rough and
a lot of work needs to be done before it
can be used by all types
of bikes. Please be careful when hiking
or biking on the trail. Remember, use of
any motorized vehicle on the trail
is expressly forbidden. Please report any
use of motorized vehicles on the trail to
the Joplin Trails Coalition – contact@joplintrailscoalition.org
or call the Jasper County Sherrif's Department
– (417) 358-8177 or (417)624-1601.
